“Human beings must mean something to one another and also in the community. It is this that has radiated through Waldorf Education from the beginning. It does not aim to be a system of principles but an impulse to awaken. It aims at being life, not knowing, not cleverness but art, vital action, awakening deed.” -Rudolf Steiner
Since its founding in 2001, the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training has been committed to providing an in-depth training for adult students wishing to become Waldorf Teachers. At the heart of our program is the vision that studying to become a Waldorf Teacher requires more than merely learning Waldorf methods and practices, it is a path of individual growth and self-development to awaken the inner capacities of inspiration and creativity and to discover a deeper understanding of the human being—qualities that children are looking for in their teachers today.
As Waldorf Education approaches its 100th anniversary, it is becoming one of the fastest growing independent school movements around the globe and the demand for thoroughly prepared Waldorf teachers has never been greater. We are proud of our success so far and are committed to continue to provide a vital and comprehensive program to meet the need for the next generation of Waldorf teachers. Over the past 14 years, we have graduated between 11 and 16 students each summer. Many of these graduates have gone on to become lead teachers in their schools, ensuring that the original impulses of Waldorf Education continue to flourish.
In order for us to provide opportunities for promising students of all economic backgrounds, we need financial support from donors who recognize the value of our work. You can find out more about us by visiting our website, joining a Visiting Day, or attending one of our short courses.
