Golden Bridges School

Seeking an After School Program Teacher- Updated 12/8/21

Golden Bridges School is a small, groundbreaking school, founded in 2013 by Waldorf-trained teachers.
We currently serve preschool – 6th (growing to 8th), with 95 students and 25 staff members in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood. Our urban farm is in Mission Terrace and outdoor classes and hikes are in McLaren Park.

GBS takes a fresh look at Waldorf education, asking what the children of today, in San Francisco, need from
teachers and education. One major result of this question is the development of a robust outdoor curriculum.
Preschool and Kindergarten rotate through an indoor classroom, urban farm, and hiking days. Grades classes are indoors for Main Lesson and some subject classes and outdoors in large parks, at the school farm, or on field trips.

We are also dedicated to becoming an anti-racist school – committed to social justice, internally and externally – that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We incorporate both anthroposophy and social justice to delve deeper into interrupting Euro- and White-centric curriculum to bring equitable teaching practices and anti-racist policies into the classroom and school life. We ask that teachers be interested and on a path of exploring both anthroposophy and social justice.

It is the operational policy of Golden Bridges School not to discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or affectional preference, age, or handicap in any of its policies, procedures, or practices. This policy of non-discrimination covers school programs and activities, including but not limited to: academic, admissions, financial aid, educational services, and employment.

Seeking Kindergarten Assistants and a 2nd Grade Class Teacher- Updated 8/23/21

The Golden Valley Tahoe School’s grass roots beginnings mirror the hard work and determination of the pioneers of the first Golden Valley Charter School eighteen years ago. Sebastopol Independent Charter School

Seeking a Kindergarten Teacher and Handwork Teacher- Updated 5/3/21

Established in 1995, Sebastopol Charter is a K-8 public charter school guided by the core principles of Public Waldorf Education.

This kind of education allows for the development of a strong and healthy imagination. Prospective parents need to be committed to eliminating television viewing, internet access, and video games for their children in younger grades and to limiting those activities in the middle grades.

The mission of the school is to provide an education that nurtures the development of the whole child, to teach and encourage each child to become a life-long learner, and to become a benefit to the community and society.

Class teachers move with their classes through the grades beginning in first grade. This commitment on the part of the teachers allows for a strong bond to develop between the children, their parents, and the teacher. The curriculum addresses the developmental needs of children. In so doing, it fosters wholesomeness while holding high academic standards. Throughout the grades, we bring a living education, integrating storytelling, music, movement, crafts, and the arts into the academic day.

Our goal is to foster respect and love for self, for others, and for nature. We strive to encourage life-long learning so we may all reach toward our highest potential.

The New Village School

Urgently Seeking Full and Part Time Class Teachers for Current School Year and Next- Updated 11/19/20

The New Village School has pioneered a deconstruction of the class teaching position along with a strong village quality where all the children meet at the beginning and end of each day with the entire teaching team… This approach is possible because the school keeps its numbers small. The advantages are that all the teachers consider themselves equally responsible for all the children and that every subject is given equal consideration, in a true honoring of the multiple intelligences we are educating. We especially cherish individuals who are well traveled, know multiple languages and are comfortable teaching outdoors, taking students out in nature and traveling. Our teachers need to be well rounded human beings with many talents and passions, and also flexible and able to work with different ages at the same time. The school defines itself as strongly inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s educational philosophy and its curriculum.

Experienced teachers or teachers in training are welcome to apply. Internship available through the spring. Please email your resume to Lalla Carini at lalla@thenewschoolvillage.org if you are interested.

Greenwood Tree Educational Cooperative

Seeking 2nd/3rd Grade Class Teacher- Updated 9/21/20

Greenwood Tree is a Waldorf-inspired educational cooperative in the rich farming community of the Skagit Valley (Washington State). This vibrant school seeks a caring, dedicated and experienced individual to lead our Second and Third grade split class (ages 7-9). This class is currently experiencing a low enrollment, however we anticipate it will continue to grow in the coming months.  The Teacher will guide the children through a Waldorf-inspired curriculum uniquely crafted to meet the needs of second and third grade students, building off of the concepts and skills covered in the student’s previous year of learning. Curriculum to include predominantly Language Arts and Math, with elements of History, Cultural Studies, and Science introduced within the framework of main lessons. Foreign Language, Fine Arts, Practical Arts, and handwork will also be worked into the weekly rhythm.  Our school and community prefer to follow the Waldorf style teaching method of using main lesson blocks to structure lessons, which allows each student to immerse themselves in the topic of study and create their own “text book” based on a personal experience of a subject or lesson. The Teacher will orchestrate the rhythm of the day by leading the children through each activity and the associated transition periods. They will make every effort to utilize the diverse resources and talents of the parents to enrich the program.
