Giving to BACWTT
Thank you For Choosing to Support the Bay Area Center For Waldorf Teacher Training
Ways of Giving
We encourage you to earmark your gift to one (or more) of these funds:
BACWTT Building Renovation Fund
For 21 years, the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training has successfully provided a thorough and transformative 3-year Waldorf teacher training program. Graduates of BACWTT hold teaching positions and positions of responsibility in most, if not all, of our local Waldorf schools.
We provide an important center in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to Anthroposophic adult education and the cultivation of the Waldorf movement in contemporary society. In collaboration with the Wildcat Canyon Community School, we are creating a beautiful and healthy space that will allow BACWTT to continue to grow and further BACWTT’s ability to provide a center for Anthroposophic adult education activities in Northern California.
The renovation will create new spaces for our reception office, bookstore and library, an adult education classroom and a kitchen/faculty meeting space. A new deck and porch will improve the lines of the building and create an inviting entrance. Our existing office will also be improved to create a dedicated teaching space.
BACWTT Diversity Scholars Fund
The Diversity Scholars Fund was established in 2020 for the purpose of increasing African American representation among qualified Waldorf teachers in Waldorf schools and in the Waldorf education movement across North America. Gifts to this fund will help to provide four full scholarship grants to African American students to complete our 3-year Waldorf teacher training program. Students can receive support to complete the 4-month Foundation Studies as an entry point, before deciding to continue with the full 3-year training.
We currently have two students who were granted scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year who will be continuing into their second year. We will have two scholarships available for incoming students for the 2022-2023 school year.
Emilie Inman Fund
The Emilie Inman Fund was created in honor of Emilie Inman, an exemplary BACWTT student from September 2014 to January 2017. Emilie lived her life as an example of openness, combined with a determination to unite people beyond fixed stereotypes and preconceived ideas.
Gifts to this fund provides tuition assistance to students who identify as Indigenous or People of Color, so that they may complete the 3-year Waldorf teacher training program. Students may receive support to complete the 4-month Foundation Studies, as an entry point, before deciding whether to continue with the full 3-year training.
Gifts to our Annual Fund go toward essential operating expenses, including program development, conferences, public events and outreach activities.
