San Francisco Waldorf High School.
What does the next generation of children really need from their teachers?
There is a growing sense that education needs to evolve and reassess its goals. The world needs creative, innovative, and empathic thinkers—people who can balance information with wisdom, individual freedom and privilege with integrity, a sense of social justice, and a love of our planet. The pace of technological development requires teachers who can instill human values and new levels of discernment in the young. In the words of E.F. Schumacher from Small is Beautiful,
“Everywhere people ask: ‘What can I actually do?’ The answer is as simple as it is disconcerting: we can, each of us, work to put our own inner house in order. The guidance we need for this work cannot be found in science or technology, the value of which utterly depends on the ends they serve; but it can still be found in the traditional wisdom of mankind.”
As the world shifts and changes and we rethink what it means to be a teacher, please join us to experience how our approach to Waldorf teacher preparation is part of shaping a healthy future
These are free events, but registration is required.
The in-person event will take place at the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training on the Wildcat Canyon Community School campus: 3800 Clark Road, El Sobrante, CA, 94803.
