BACWTT Annual Appeal 2025-2026
Dear Friends,
We have had great support this year and are well on the way to reaching our goal of $75,000. Every dollar that has been donated supports the learning of the next generation of Waldorf teachers.
It is easy to get caught up in the minutiae of Waldorf teaching and to forget the underlying impulse that runs through everything we do—health and well-being. This includes physical health, social-emotional health, and mental health. Our teacher training students engage in studies and activities that help them to become well grounded, flexible, mindful, and connected to the world so that they can embody these qualities and cultivate them for the children in their classes. This idea of “health” is manifold. It is in the realm of thinking—clarity, flexibility, and originality in the thought life. It is in the realm of the feeling life—empathy, sensitivity, and awareness of the needs of others and of the world. It is also in the realm of the will—the ability and conviction to respond and act when needed. Waldorf education has always been in the service of creating a better world by providing a holistic experience that supports children’s in all of these ways.
Today, we are living through challenging times and events that remind us that Waldorf education originated in a period of societal turmoil and collapse. Planted in the founding of Waldorf is the seed of hope that, through this education, the next generation will be better equipped to meet the obstacles of the times. We continue to pursue this vision. Waldorf education is many things, but it is nothing without well-prepared teachers who carry the big picture of how their teaching can impact the social and global needs at this moment and in the future. Our time is filled with important tasks that need healthy, balanced, and perceptive young people—and our children need extraordinary teachers to lead the way.
