Plowing through the first 7 lectures of Rudolf Steiner’s seminal lecture cycle for teachers, The Study of Man in 5 days, proved to be both possible and successful as Waldorf teachers from various schools presented the fruits of their own faculty studies, using a variety of approaches: dramatic, conversational, diagrammatic, Socratic. Buttressing the 2 daily discussion classes, eurythmy, singing and sculpture provided artistic means for experiencing the ideas raised in the “sit-down” classes. Offered as an experiment in collegial working, the week was deemed a success by participants and instructors, and plans were made for continuing with lectures 8-14 next summer.
