Summer Arts Festival 2010 Courses set

We have 4 separate courses available this coming summer.

June 21 – 25, 2010

Waldorf Early Childhood: What? Why? How? Practical Aspects and Theory

The faculty consists of four very experienced teachers. Dorit Winter will guide conversation based on short excerpts of text by Rudolf Steiner. Glenda Monasch will offer movement to enliven the imagination- stories, verses, songs and poems for the young child to bring the world alive imaginatively through  simple eurythmy elements. Marianne Alsop will work with the group on activities and story telling for children, focusing on rhythm, repetition and respect as the basis for protecting the life forces of the young child. And for those who can stay after lunch, Chris Guilfoil will offer painting as soul nourishment for caregivers, including practical advice on painting with children, and consideration of how children’s paintings metamorphoses as childhood progresses. $195 (or $245 if painting included)

June 28 – July 2, 2010

Arts Intensives

4 hours a day of either sculpture in clay and stone with Ken Smith; or 4 hours a day of a variety of media: paper, charcoal, crayon, collage, all united around watercolor painting with Chris Guilfoil; or 4 hours a day of working on “uncovering the voice” with Christiaan Boele. $395

July 5 – July 9, 2010

Sculpture intensive continued

with additional classes available in eurythmy (the planetary movements) with Glenda Monasch and form drawing (the planetary seals) with Patrick Marooney. Two weeks of sculpture: $595 (with additional classes: $650). Second week alone: call office for details.

Deepening the Understanding of Waldorf Education through Study and Art

For those having prior engagement with anthroposophy as the basis for Waldorf education. “Topics in Anthroposophy” might include: the 4-fold human being, planetary evolution, karma and reincarnation, the Christ impulse. “For the Inner Life of the Teacher” will draw from Rudolf Steiner’s indications for the cultivation of esoteric development. Singing, painting, eurythmy and form drawing will round out the day. $495

July 12-17, 2010:

Waldorf Seminar for Waldorf Professionals

Study of Man with Christof Wiechert, supported by artistic work. $495
