We welcome several new teachers: Vasilica Hall will be our new eurythmy teacher. After many years of devoted support, our former eurythmy teacher, Renate Lundberg, will be focusing on her many tasks and commitments at Summerfield Waldorf School. Our June issue of Current Matters featured our various farewells to Renate; now we look ahead and anticipate a wonderful time with Vasilica. We’ll tell you more about her in our October Current Matters.
Also joining us for the first time as a teacher is Mary Barhydt who has just graduated her 8th grade at San Francisco Waldorf School. She will be working on Kingdom of Childhood with the First Year, and we are delighted that her sabbatical year allows her to bring her recent wealth of experience into our program. Deborah Krikorian, who taught this course for us last year is moving into 7th grade with her class at San Francisco Waldorf School and will have plenty to keep her busy!
Susan Cook, also a former San Francisco Waldorf teacher, is taking up a significant portion of our Third Year pedagogical studies. Susan is not a stranger to our program, and we are pleased that her involvement is increasing.
Finally, we bid farewell to our Enrollment Coordinator, Ingrid Orlow. After 2 very successful years with us, she is consolidating her home base, which is Seattle. Ingrid flew in for each of Visiting Days! We truly appreciate her dedication to our program. She flawlessly kept track of inquiries, and shepherded many prospective students through their initial questions to the point of applying, a task that takes tact and tenderness.
Taking on the position of Enrollment Coordinator for the next incoming class, the Class of 2014, is Megan Neale. She graduated from our program this past July, has twin girls in the 7th grade at Marin Waldorf School, has been a part-time, substitute class teacher, and is also a Waldorf spouse – her husband, Adam, is the wood work teacher at Marin Waldorf – and a Board member of the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training.
