Using both the new multi-purpose room and the amphitheater at the Marin Waldorf School, we were able to have a varied program which included:
• a performance of the Michaelmas Soul Calendar verse by 5 eurythmists and a speech artist, including our own eurythmy teacher, Renate Lundberg.
• part II of Dorit’s Opening Address on “The Colonization of the Mind” (to be published in the Golden Gate this December) and its relationship to “The Festival of Self-Consciousness” or Michaelmas.
• a Hindemith “Duette” performed by violinist, Joe Edelberg, whose wife, Margrit, is in the Third Year; and clarinetist Michael Jordin, Class of 2003. Both Joe and Michael are professional musicians. What a treat!
• singing of the Michaelmas rounds we’d “practiced” under the direction of our choir teacher, Lisa Sargent, at our Opening Assembly.
• small group conversations, introduced by eurythmist Renate Lundberg.
• a beautiful exhibition spanning 10 centuries of artistic representations of Michael and the Dragon.
• an extravagant buffet lunch.
• time to catch up with alumni and friends
