The Kindergarten Assistants help to educate students in an environment and manner that nurtures and guides them, with consideration for the needs of each individual child and the class as a whole. The Kindergarten Assistants shall work as much as possible from the indications of Waldorf philosophy and integrate Waldorf methods with other current best educational practices.
It is expected that the Assistant’s classroom hours are 7:45am to 1pm, Mon – Fri during the school year.
The Kindergarten Assistant is responsible for procuring supplies for snacks/food for the classroom. An account exists for each kindergarten to be used for purchasing food for snacks, and it is the Assistant’s responsibility to maintain receipts from all purchases and turn these in to the school bookkeeper on a regular basis. These duties may be scheduled at the Assistant’s convenience, outside of school hours. It is expected that duties related to snack shopping will take approximately 3 hours per week. These hours are additional to the classroom hours the assistant works.
Pay is $26,500 per year. Position is eligible for health care, dental and retirement benefits.

Biodynamic and organic farms abound in this temperate zone, and we have many farmers in our school community. We are located an hour from the Pacific Crest Trail, and about two hours from Crater Lake, Mt. Shasta, Stout Redwood Grove, and the California and Oregon coasts.
